Equity markets investing firm Raise Financial Services has spent close to Rs 50 crore on graphics processing units (GPUs) to power its artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, Alok Pandey, co-founder and CTO, told Moneycontrol in an interaction.
The company has deployed NVIDIA H200 GPUs and has also ordered the newer B300 Blackwell GPUs.
The investment is being treated primarily as research and development (R&D), with Raise using the infrastructure across its businesses, including stockbroking platform Dhan, AI-powered research assistant Fuzz and algorithmic trading platform Stratzy.
Pandey said the economics of owning GPUs have also proved attractive. The cost of owning an H200 GPU can be recovered in about a year compared with renting equivalent cloud computing capacity, he said.
“When we procured the GPU, we did not look at it purely from a return on investment (ROI) perspective. The idea was primarily R&D where we have our own GPUs and run multiple use cases on them,” Pandey added.
