A shift in market sentiment following the US midterm elections is certainly possible, but investors should be cautious about attributing a sustained market trend solely to the election outcome, said Amit Bivalkar, Head of Equirus Wealth, in an interview with Moneycontrol.
According to Bivalkar, markets are likely to be influenced far more by inflation trends, interest rate expectations, corporate earnings and geopolitical developments in the coming months.
Among sectors, Bivalkar is constructive on the medium-term outlook for telecom. Rising data consumption, increasing digital adoption and the possibility of further tariff hikes provide a strong foundation for revenue growth, he said.
If pricing discipline persists and investment intensity moderates, the telecom sector could emerge as a highly attractive cash-generating industry, he added.
Do you expect tensions in West Asia to ease and oil prices to cool, particularly after the US midterm elections?
