Hindustan Unilever (HUL) shares rose in early trade on Thursday after the FMCG major reported strong revenue and volume growth for the fiscal second quarter, prompting largely positive assessments from brokerages despite concerns over inflation and operating margins.
HUL shares were trading at Rs 1,827, up 0.6 percent, in early morning trade. The stock has declined 21.6 percent so far in 2026, compared with a 13.2 percent fall in the Nifty 50. The company's market capitalisation stood at Rs 4.28 lakh crore.
The gains came amid a positive broader market. At 9:36 am, the Sensex was up 169.61 points, or 0.23 percent, at 73,415.64, while the Nifty gained 39.95 points, or 0.18 percent, to trade at 22,738.80.
Brokerages remain largely bullish on HUL, with UBS, Jefferies and HSBC retaining Buy recommendations following the company's Q2 FY27 results.
UBS has the highest price target of Rs 2,700, implying nearly 49 percent upside from Wednesday's closing price of Rs 1,815.80. The brokerage highlighted strong revenue and volume growth, particularly in the Home Care and Beauty & Wellbeing businesses.
