Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty climbed from day's low to end flat on October 27 due to various reasons, including value buying.
On October 27, the Sensex closed 8.08 points or 0.01% lower at 73,598.67, and the Nifty ended 3.45 points or 0.02% lower at 22,749.75. About 2,806 shares advanced, 1,336 shares declined, and 178 shares unchanged.
Value buying emerged from lower levels a day after the markets snapped four-day losing streak. Sensex rose 400 points from day's low and Nifty nearly reclaimed psychologically important 22,750-mark on its monthly F&O expiry day.
"Brent crude remaining above $114 and the US 10-year bond yield hovering around 4.97% continue to be near-term headwinds for the market. FIIs will remain in a risk-off mode in this adverse macro setting. However, the improving fundamentals of the corporate sector as reflected in Q2 earnings and the robust domestic fund inflows will continue to support the market," said V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited.
For the Nifty 50, Tata Consumer Products, Bharat Electronics, and Bharti Airtel lent the most support, while Infosys, ICICI Bank, and Reliance Industries added downside pressure. Tata Consumer rose around 6% and was the top gainer in the index after it released its earnings for the September quarter post trading hours Monday.
