An F&O trader on October 9 claimed he incurred Rs 61 lakh loss as he "couldn't wake up on time".

On X platform, Mayank Raj said in a post "I never imagined sleeping in could cost me this much."

"Yesterday, I shorted calls, but this morning I couldn’t wake up on time. When I finally woke up and checked my open position, I was sitting on a significant loss.

"This loss came from a lack of discipline rather than a mistake in my trade setup. Had I woken up on time, I would have exited around my planned stop-loss of Rs 15–20 lakh," he said.

He shared a screenshot of Rs 71 lakh loss incurred by shorting Nifty 22,000 calls that were expiring on October 13. He reduced his loss by earning Rs 10 lakh profit by buying October 22,500 calls that were expiring on October 13.
