Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated Jio Platforms on its stock market debut, as the company listed at Rs 1,358 per share, a premium of 21.36% over its IPO price of Rs 1,119.
At the listing price, Jio Platforms' market capitalisation stood at around Rs 12.6 lakh crore, making it India's second most valuable listed company after Reliance Industries.
At the News18 Rising Bharat Summit (West Edition) in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke with Moneycontrol Managing Editor Nalin Mehta and said, “this listing has shown India's capabilities to the world. These are now global companies, Jio being one of them. When the world is beset with challenges, this instils confidence in India's resilience.”
The Chief minister also stressed that ease of doing business was more important than offering incentives to attract investments.
"Ease of doing business more important than offering sops," Fadnavis said.
