Shares of KRBL, world's largest basmati rice miller and exporter, jumped over 13 percent to touch Rs 412 during Tuesday's trading session after the company reported strong set of earnings in the July-September quarter of the financial year 2026-27.
KRBL shares opened at Rs 379.50 on the BSE and subsequently rallied 13.6 percent to hit an intra-day high of Rs 412.30 against the previous closing of Rs 362.80. At around 12.10 pm, the stock was trading 11.01 percent higher at Rs 402.75.
KRBL Ltd, the maker of India Gate basmati rice, reported a 51 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 259 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Q2 FY27), compared with Rs 172 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
The company's revenue from operations rose 14.3 percent YoY to Rs 1,727 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with Rs 1,511 crore in the year-ago period. The growth was primarily driven by higher domestic revenue, which partially offset by lower export revenue.
Operating performance also improved during the quarter, with KRBL’s consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increasing 46 percent YoY to Rs 333 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 228 crore reported a year earlier.
