The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has extended until March 31, 2027, its relaxation allowing companies to revise the size of their initial public offerings (IPOs) without filing fresh draft offer documents.
The relaxation allows companies to increase or decrease the size of the fresh issue by up to 50%, subject to specified conditions.
In a communication to the Association of Investment Bankers of India (AIBI) dated October 12, the regulator extended the earlier deadline of September 30, 2026.
SEBI had set the September 30 deadline in early April, as tensions in West Asia weighed on investor sentiment.
Under the earlier framework, changes of more than 20% in the issue size required companies to file fresh draft offer documents. The relaxation was introduced to help companies respond to changing market conditions without having to restart the regulatory filing process.
