The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is working to enable the sharing of additional information fields related to mutual funds and securities holdings through the Account Aggregator framework, Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey said on Thursday.
Speaking at Sahamati's Samvaad event, Pandey said, “My area of focus is improving the availability and quality of relevant securities market information. We are working towards facilitating the sharing of additional information fields related to mutual funds and securities holdings, subject to appropriate functions and safeguards.”
Securities market information, including demat and non-demat holdings, mutual funds and stocks held across brokers, is already available through the framework, along with National Pension System (NPS) data on a consent basis. Following the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) recent announcement, bank deposit information will also be available on a consent basis.
On broader improvements to the Consolidated Account Statement (CAS), Pandey said a working group was examining different proposals.
“Once they have finalised it, then it will come as a consultation paper, so we will get to see soon. It's a high priority for us,” he said.
