As Indian equity markets prepare to enter Samvat 2083 and gear up for Muhurat Trading, special one-hour trading session scheduled on Sunday, November 8, 2026, to mark Diwali Laxmi Pujan, several brokerages and research firms have identified stocks across different sectors, including banking, IT, defence, healthcare, hospitality, automobiles, consumer and industrial, that could offer investment opportunities over the coming year.
Shriram Research, Sahi Research, Jainam and InCred Equities have picked their Diwali stock recommendations for Samvat 2083, highlighting companies with strong earnings potential, improving business fundamentals, attractive valuations and opportunities arising from India's domestic growth story.
According to Shriram Research, Samvat 2082 began on high expectations on the back of fiscal and monetary support from policymakers but closed with double-digit decline in several market segments amid global geopolitical tensions. Initially, tariff-related concerns weighed on investor sentiment, followed by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which disrupted energy supplies and pushed up crude oil prices. Higher energy costs also fuelled inflationary concerns and raised the possibility of tighter monetary conditions.
However, domestic investors could take a longer-term view, supported by improving corporate earnings, favourable policy measures and an eventual improvement in global conditions. Shriram Research believes that Samvat 2083 could reward investors who tracks fundamental numbers rather than emphasising on daily market noise.
“For investors, the new Samvat should therefore be about quality, patience and discipline. If inflation moderates, crude oil cools, earnings estimates improves then it will have positive impact on our relative valuations to global markets as a result foreign flows would start chasing value ideas on longer horizon,” it said.
