Angel One is seeing a recovery in trading activity after a series of regulatory changes in the futures and options (F&O) segment, even as it looks to diversify into products such as commodities, margin trading facility (MTF), and wealth management.
Investors and brokers have always adapted to the changes introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Angel One Group chief executive officer Ambarish Kenghe told Moneycontrol. He added that such adaptation helps brokers recover sooner rather than later.
SEBI’s recent move on the Closing Auction Session saw F&O activity dip for most brokers in September, with some recovery in October.
Kenghe backed the introduction of a closing auction session (CAS), which provides an additional mechanism for determining closing prices. He said it could help cash-market securities, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds converge on a more reliable price at the end of the trading day.
“Over a period of time, you have seen that revive. People have gotten used to it and understand what is happening in the end session, and therefore how to adjust for it,” he said, adding that the company’s average daily orders rose to 52 lakh in August 2026 and 58 lakh in September.
