JSW Steel, India's largest steelmaker by capacity, on Friday reported a three-fold year-on-year jump in its consolidated net profit for September quarter of the financial year 2026-26, buoyed by record steel sales and firm flat steel prices offset which elevated coking coal costs.
The Mumbai-based company's consolidated profit after tax (PAT) surged 225.3 percent at Rs 5,279 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The same stood at Rs 1,623 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year (Q2FY26).
Revenue from operations rose 10.7 percent YoY to Rs 54,486 crore in Q2FY27, compared to Rs 45,152 crore in the July-September quarter of FY26.
The JSW Group entity's total income increased to Rs 54,927 crore in Q2FY27 from Rs 45,436 crore in the year-ago period.
The steelmaker’s Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) reported a 42.2 percent YoY growth to come in at Rs 10,120 crore during the September quarter against Rs 7,115 crore in the same quarter the previous fiscal. EBITDA increased 6 percent on quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, driven by higher volumes, partly offset by higher coking coal prices and lower realisations.
