Changes in foreign institutional investor (FII) shareholding often attract market attention, as these investors typically conduct extensive research before making investment decisions. Equally, a reduction in their stake can be worth tracking. Of the BSE 500 companies, around 68 had declared their September 2026 quarter shareholding data so far. Among these, FIIs reduced their stakes in 36 stocks, accounting for more than half of the companies that reported their latest shareholding patterns.
Interestingly, several of these stocks underperformed over the past three months. We highlight 12 stocks from this list that declined between 15% and 27% during this period, while FIIs trimmed their holdings in the September 2026 quarter compared with the June 2026 quarter.
