Indian stock markets will remain closed today, October 20, on account of Dussehra, with trading suspended across major segments on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Trading in equities, equity derivatives, securities lending and borrowing (SLBs), currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives will remain shut for the day on both exchanges.
Meanwhile, the commodity derivatives segment will remain closed during the morning session from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, but trading will resume in the evening session between 5:00 pm and 11:30 pm/11:55 pm.
Market activity on the NSE and BSE will resume on October 21 (Wednesday).
Indian benchmark indices snapped their two-day winning streak and witnessed heavy selling on October 19, amid elevated crude oil prices, weak global cues and selling in private banking stocks following disappointing earnings.
